Engineers Wanted

After several months of percolating the idea, I'm now pushing ahead with ENGINEERING YOUR LIFE. The next major step is completing a proposal for publishers.

I now realize that I'll need a well-respected engineer to be a coauthor--someone acknowledged as a master in a specific field of engineering: information technology, bio engineering, civil engineering, rocket science, whatever. In addition to professional skills, the person should also be passionate about engineering as a great human achievement.

Also, we will want a "guest engineer" for each of the key processes discussed in the book--
* debugging
* failure analysis
* cost benefit analysis
* re-engineering
* etc.

We are hopiing to find engineers working in a variety of settings: industry, academia, backyard garages.

If you know of one or more engineers who might like to be connected with this project, please let me know. Thanks.

Collaborative Book Project

I'm a screenwriter, not an engineer. But I believe that the principles of engineering--used to create such wonders as the Eiffel Tower, the ballpoint pen, the Golden Gate Bridge, and television--can be applied to our everyday lives. The goal is to achieve greater happiness in marriage, business, child rearing, or whatever activities engage us.

To explore this idea, I'm writing a book with the working title ENGINEERING YOUR LIFE. Topics include Backward Engineering, Modeling, and Failure Analaysis.

I plan to post sample chapters here as the book takes shape.

If this project interests you, and if you'd like to participate, please let me know. Participation might range from reading preliminary drafts to writing original material for the book.

I look forward to hearing from you.
